New Arnold Schwarzenegger action series Fubar headlines another huge month for new releases on Netflix UK this May.

Elsewhere on the telly front, a double header of hotly anticipated spin-offs await. First up there’s Bridgerton prequel Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, a limited series starring India Amarteifio that’s set to chart the rise and romances of the eponymous monarch from the streamer’s steamy YA adaptation.

Later in the month, there’s also To All The Boys I Loved Before follow-up XO, Kitty to look forward to.

May also marks the return of wholesome lifestyle makeover show Queer Eye, which is back for its seventh series as The Fab Five head down to New Orleans to change lives and look fabulous doing it. And, for a slight change of pace, another fan favourite making its return this month is sci-fi anime series Ultraman, whose third — and sadly final — season promises an explosive end to Shinjiro Hayata’s alien battling adventures.

As well as returning shows, spin-offs, and Schwarzenegger, all-new series heading our way include post-apocalyptic adult animation Mulligan, the Jada Pinkett-Smith produced historical docu-drama Cleopatra, and Black Knight, a South Korean sci-fi actioner with a delivery driver twist. And yes, you did read that right, a delivery driver twist.

Over on the film front, the month’s big Netflix Original release is action thriller The Mother, the latest from Mulan director Niki Caro. Vetoing past statements that she Ain’t Your Mama, Jennifer Lopez is mother in every sense here, playing an assassin who comes out of hiding to protect the daughter she abandoned years ago. With an ensemble including Sound of Metal’s Paul Raci, Gael García Bernal, and Joseph Fiennes, the talent behind and in front of the camera has us hyped for this one.

As ever, it’s not just original films either that viewers can expect to find on Netflix this month. There’s a ready-made Friday night horror double-feature to be had with Vince Vaughn and Kathryn Newton’s campy body-swap slasher Freaky and Saw-lite Escape Room sequel Tournament of Champions.

With thanks to What's On Netflix, here's everything we know is heading to Netflix UK this month..
