Kensington Palace have released three new images of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s youngest child Prince Louis, to mark his first birthday on April 23.

The photos were taken by mum Kate, 37, at their Norfolk home Anmer Hall earlier this month.

The gorgeous snaps were taken outside and show the royal tot beaming at his mother, as he sits on a moss covered seat.

He looks to be wearing one of his big brother Prince George’s hand-me-downs - a Rachel Riley Peter Pan collar shirt - under a burgundy marl knitted jumper with three-button shoulder detailing.

George, now five, was always seen in shorts as a baby and Louis has been dressed in navy blue cords with matching tights underneath.

In another photo, he wears the same outfit, but is reaching one hand out towards Kate with her camera.

In the third photograph, Louis’ gaze is more serious, but his two bottom teeth can be seen as he looks at the lens.

His maroon ensemble has been swapped for a plain collared shirt and a £35 denim blue jumper with a puppy design from Trotters’ Thomas Brown collection.

It’s the first time that the Duchess of Cambridge has shown off her photography skills. She took portraits of daughter Princess Charlotte on her first birthday and on her first day at Willcocks Nursery School last year.

The birthday portraits echo that of the Cambridges’ Christmas card photo, where the family of five were photographed dressed down within the grounds of the Anmer Hall.

It’s believed that Kate and William have spent the Easter break with their three small children in Norfolk. They were spotted having fun at the Burnham Market Horse Trials with Zara and Mike Tindall and their eldest child Mia.

Prince Louis Arthur Charles was born on April 23, 2018 at 11:01 at the Lindo Wing at St Mary’s hospital in Paddington.

He weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces and was first seen in public seven hours after his arrival, when Kate and William stood on the steps of the Lindo Wing for a media photocall, before taking their newborn home to Kensington Palace.

He is fifth in line to the throne and is the Queen and Prince Philip’s sixth great-grandchild.

Since his birth, Louis has rarely been seen in public. Images of him with his big sister Charlotte, three, were released shortly after he was born.

He was christened on July 9, 2018 and the service was attended by all of the Cambridges, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, the Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall and Kate’s family, the Middletons.

There were then official photographs to mark the occasion.

We then got another glimpse of Louis when he was pictured alongside his parents, siblings, Uncle Harry and Auntie Meghan and his grandfather Charles and Camilla to mark the Prince of Wales’ 70th birthday last November.

As well as the group family shots, there was an outtake which showed a then seven-month Louis grabbing his grandfather’s face while all of the royals laugh, and another with him cuddled up in Charles’ arms.

While there have been hardly any public appearances of the little royal, Kate has kept well-wishers updated on his progress during her engagements.

She recently told a group of mums at the Henry Fawcett Children’s Centre in London in March that Louis “just wants to pull himself up all the time,” and “He has got these little walkers and is bombing around in them.”

The Duchess of Cambridge will resume her royal duties this week, attending the Anzac Day service at Westminster Abbey on April 25.

The Duke of Cambridge, 36, will visit Auckland and Christchurch in New Zealand, on April 25 and 26 to pay tribute to those affected by the Christchurch mosques terrorist attack.

Kate and William will celebrate their eighth wedding anniversary on April 29.

The couple attended the Easter Sunday service at St George’s Chapel in Windsor on April 21, which also marked the Queen’s 93rd birthday.
