Recycling at home is a feature of modern life – but you might be doing it all wrong.

Ministers are reportedly set to ask people to be more selective in what they send for recycling in a bid to reduce the amount of material which needs to be separated at processing centres and sent to landfill.

The new rules may not be as simple as minister hope as it is expected to take rural and urban areas and their respective needs into account, with some councils told to show 'flexibility' in the guidance.
