Newcastle make Anthony Gordon decision as Liverpool 'scout' two players Arne Slot likes
Liverpool are being linked with several potential new signings months before the transfer window even reopens. The Reds had a quiet summer in terms of new additions with Federico Chiesa the only outfield player to be added to Liverpool's squad for this season.
Giorgi Mamardashvili was signed from Valencia in a £30million deal. However, the Georgia goalkeeper will spend the remainder of the season on loan with the La Liga club with a view to being the long-term successor to Alisson Becker moving forward.
Arne Slot's side picked up a 3-1 win over AC Milan in their Champions League meeting on Tuesday night. The Reds will now look ahead to their return to Premier League action this weekend.

Despite the market being closed, there are plenty of whispers doing the rounds. Here, the Liverpool Echo takes a look at some of the latest Liverpool news and gossip to generate headlines over the last 24 hours;
Anthony Gordon contract update
Anthony Gordon continues to be linked with a switch to Liverpool. The Reds did agree a £75million deal for the Newcastle forward this summer, only for the transfer to fall through.
According to TBR Football, Newcastle are planning to open talks with Gordon about extending his contract. The report indicates that the Magpies are determined to agree a new deal with Gordon in order to fend off returning interest from Liverpool, or other potential suitors.
It has been claimed that Liverpool still have an interest in signing Gordon, despite bringing Chiesa to Anfield this summer. The England international has less than two years remaining on his current contract.
Liverpool 'scout' Champions League duo
Liverpool reportedly had scouts in attendance to watch two Girona players against PSG on Wednesday night. According to Caught Offside, the Reds had representatives at the Parc des Princes, to watch Girona duo Viktor Tsygankov and Miguel Gutierrez.
The report claims that Slot has been left impressed by both Tsygankov and Gutierrez and that Liverpool are now interested in a proposed swoop for the players. However, it seems as though the Reds will face competition from Arsenal and Aston Villa.
Tsygankov plays as an advanced midfielder or a winger for Girona and Ukraine. Gutierrez, meanwhile, plays at left-back and was linked with a move to Manchester United during the summer transfer window.
