Newcastle Castle is set to host a Halloween experience in the world of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. The Newcastle Castle Keep will house the work of award-winning director Jake Murray, who previously created Dickens by Candlelight.

This fresh adaptation of the 1818 novel, crafted by acclaimed writer and producer Craig Wilde, promises to be the perfect theatre experience for the spooky season. The show is set against the dramatic and atmospheric backdrop of Newcastle Castle’s centuries-old walls, with the production looking to transport audiences into the dark and gothic world of Shelley's masterpiece.

The Castle Keep’s historic Hall is the perfect setting for the haunting tale of ambition, creation, and horror. Suitable for both fans of the novel and those who are new to the story, this production looks to captivate with its dramatic intensity and emotional depth.

Jake Murray's direction is said to masterfully capture the tension and emotion of Shelley's story, whilst also offering a fresh interpretation that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats. Paired with the adaptation itself, the performance promises an immersive and spine-tingling experience that will stay with audiences throughout the Halloween period.

Tickets are selling fast, with over 50% now gone, so Niltoni Productions are encouraging people to get them soon. Ticket prices range from £29.50 to £36.50, with performances running from 1 November - 15 November 2024, and tickets can be purchased here.
