Explaining what he he had in mind for Yinrun and the inspiration her transformation, Gee told the Chronicle: "She wanted a dramatic change and was happy for it to be a surprise so I blocked out all the mirrors during the process so she could not see the changes.
"I created a beautiful ‘Blusher Pink’ colour to match Yinrun’s bubbly personality. I made her cover her eyes as I unveiled the mirror and finished styling her hair to see her true reaction seeing her new hair for the first time. She was so shocked but absolutely loved her new look!"
Gee's makeover on Yinrun came at the end of a busy and very successful summer for him, after he was won the coveted L’Oreal colour trophy, one of the biggest awards in the UK hair industry. Having entered the competition numerous times over the last 10 years, Gee went all out to make an impact this year, revealing: "I thought to myself 'tis year I'm going to do what I want to do and went a bit bolder than I had in the past. It was a lot of work but to beat huge salons from London was incredible!"
