Newcastle United and Aston Villa 'discover' price tag for Juventus winger

Newcastle United are said to be closely watching emerging Argentinian talent Matias Soule this summer.

The 21-year-old forward is also liked by fellow Premier League rival Aston Villa after a standout campaign in Serie A with Frosinone, on loan from Juventus. Soule scored 11 goals and registered three assists for the Canaries as they were relegated to the second tier of Italian football.

Bologna coach Thiago Motta is set to be appointed as the new manager of Juventus this summer and his side are reported to have slapped a £34m price tag on Soule as both the Magpies and Unai Emery's men chase his services when the transfer window opens.

The youngster already has UEFA Champions League experience, having played for his parent club during their 2022/23 campaign. He featured in defeats to Maccabi Haifa, Benfica and PSG. His loan spell with Frosinone is said to have impressed those at Juve but they also understand it could be the perfect time to cash in.

Having developed quite the relationship with Massimiliano Allegri throughout his time at the club, it remains to be seen whether Motta's new exciting brand of football will include Soule's talents. Citing Allegri's influence, the forward insisted he already owes a lot to a legend of Italian football.

“He taught me a lot," as quoted by Calciomercato. "To occupy spaces, to play multiple roles. With him, I also played as a fifth, as a midfielder, as a midfielder or as a wide player on the right in a 4-3-3. And he helped me a lot in the defensive phase."
