The PSG man is expected to be out until the New Year with a hamstring injury.
Newcastle United are back in Champions League action on Wednesday night as excitement builds for their first home game of their 2023-24 European campaign.
The Magpies started their Champions League adventure with a 0-0 draw at AC Milan and are now putting the final touches on their preparations for the visit of Paris Saint-Germain.
Looking ahead to the game, Magpies boss Eddie Howe said: “I can’t wait to experience the home atmosphere and what our fans create. I think it will be a really memorable night and hopefully our performance will make it that way, too.
The PSG man withdrew from international with a foot injury last month and has yet to return to action.
“The fans will bring their positivity, noise, enthusiasm and love for the game. It’s up to us to use that powerfully and positively on the pitch. You can use too much emotion on the pitch, but I think we’ve been getting that balance right at home.”

The defender is currently sidelined with a heel problem.
Ekitike will not feature in either of the fixtures against Newcastle after he was not included in PSG’s Champions League squad.
Speaking about the striker’s availability, Howe said on Tuesday: “Callum, we think, won’t make tomorrow but he’s going to be close. As it stands now, he probably won’t make the game.”
Joelinton limped off with a hamstring problem against Burnley but Howe said: “Joey is in a similar position [to Wilson] where he’s close and we’ll make a late check on him.”
There were concerns over the midfielder after he missed the first part of training on Tuesday but Howe says the player is fine.
Is facing a few weeks out with a knee injury having missed the last two games.
The summer signing is expected to be out until January with a foot injury.
The right-back was left out of the Magpies’ Champions League squad as he continues his recovery from injury.
He will miss the game due to an Achilles injury which has ruled him out of action since May.
