Bosses at an Italian restaurant have submitted a licensing application to the council.

Radici, which opened in September, boasts a wide selection of pizzas, calzones, pastas and more for customers as part of both its dine-in and takeaway menus. The York Road, Hartlepool, eatery has lodged a plan to Hartlepool Borough Council to serve alcohol.

Radici Group Ltd is asking to serve alcohol from 10am until 10pm Monday to Wednesday, and until 11pm Thursday to Sunday. It would also secure them permission to serve "late night refreshment", which is needed to offer hot food and hot drinks after 11pm, until 11.30pm from Thursday to Sunday.

The site closes at 10pm Monday to Wednesday and 11.30pm Thursday to Sunday. The application from restaurant bosses states they would look to promote the licensing objectives, which are the prevention of public nuisance and crime and disorder, ensuring public safety and protecting children from harm.
