Newly Released Footage Captures Fire Rescue by Louisville Metro Police Officers

Newly released body-worn camera footage shared by the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) in Kentucky shows officers rescuing a woman trapped on the second floor of a burning building in September.

According to police, LMPD Officer Marshall notified dispatch of a structure fire that was “rapidly” engulfing a house. Officers Marshall, Allen, Kaiser, Broughton, and Mills found a woman trapped on the second floor roof and encouraged her to jump to them. Bodycam footage shared on October 19 shows the officers catching the woman as she dropped from above.

The department said all involved officers were nominated for awards for their heroic efforts during the emergency response. Credit: Louisville Metro Police via Storyful
