From 'Shiitake Mushroom' To 'Sass-Tastic': Nicole Scherzinger's Best X Factor Quotes Of 2013

The 'Schamazing' X factor mentor, Nicole Scherzinger has become a TV favourite with her hilarious one liners and made-up words. The sassy singer doesn't hold back when judging the contestants.

After Sam Bailey's performance of Elton John's  'Candle In The Wind,' Nicole nearly swore on the live show but quickly changed her comment to "shiitake mushrooms" smooth!

She said: "When I listen to your voice...Oh shiitake mushrooms, it was so bad it felt so good." But we all know what she meant!

Scherzy doesn't just talk like this on the show, the star tweets this way too. She said of ex contestant, Abi Alton: "Abi you looked like a million bucks kid you were Sass-tastic and you SUNG tonight, you sure did your Dad proud!"

She refers to her contestants as "Scherzy girls". Last year was when the public first really got to find out how weird and wonderful the Pussycat Doll singer was.

Her contestant from the last  X Factor competition, Jahméne Douglas, even got his own personalised word..."Jahmazing." We want one!

The Mirror reported that during the bootcamp auditions, Nicole Scherzinger had a rant at contestants for being "uninspiring," she then went on to add: "Tough love, okay. Kick some butt and grow some balls.” It looks like they did as she said because now Scherzy can't stop saying the word "balls."

After finalist Sam Bailey sang Beyoncé's 'If I Were A Boy' on Saturday, the mentor said: "Do you want me to say it? I'll say it, I'll say it, I'll say it...Balls." Looks like Sam Bailey impressed her, phew!

Nicole also has a habit of splitting one word into two. The star tweeted after a live show saying: "#latergram Catching up w/an old friend @ladygaga I luv it! Just LI-VING in nude underwear xfactor"

Ex contestant Tamera also received a tweet from her mentor saying: "Tamera you came out SCH-WINGING tonight! Like Gary said "your potential is stratospherical." We're still not clear on what "Sch-winging" means, but we like it.

Out of all Nicole's infamous X Factor quotes, our favourite still has to be from series nine of the show when she was commenting on Rylan's live performance for 'Club Classics' week.

Head judge, Gary Barlow made it known that he wasn't keen on the whole thing, but protective mentor Nicole hit back saying: "You say he doesn't have the X Factor. You're right because he has the X Y Z factor honey!" She also called Rylan "Gorg-oire" Which we think means gorgeous.There is just no end to her vocabulary!

We hope we'll be seeing her back on the panel for next years' series of The X Factor, it wouldn't be as "schmazing" without her.
