Alec Baldwin has reportedly sent Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein a handwritten apology after ranting about him in Cannes recently.
The 30 Rock star called the top Hollywood boss a “f***ing douche bag” while at a party at the south of France festival.
Baldwin had wanted Weinstein to join him on his latest project, but when he didn't get involved, the actor lashed out.
The two men were lined up to host this week's amfAR charity gala at Cannes last night, but Baldwin decided not to take part in the end. But, it's not clear whether he was booted out or decided not to get involve.
Although Baldwin did attend the event, the New York Post has reported that he wrote a short message to Weinstein.
"HW, my apology to you and congratulations on a successful event," the publication states it read.
And Weinstein then responded with a statement that shows that he appreciated the effort that Baldwin went to.
"Alec couldn't have been more gracious. We all lose our tempers sometime; trust me I have, too. We all appreciated his generosity to everyone at amfAR," he said in a statement.
Baldwin was hoping that the Hollywood icon would get involved on his mockumentary Seduced and Abandoned which centres on issues that filmmakers face when they look for financial backing for their projects.
Weinstein, whose work includes 'The Artist' and 'Lord of the Rings', chose not to take part, which left a very angry Baldwin.
"I don't care who knows,” he reportedly raged at a Calvin Klein party. “After the success he had at Cannes last year and all the f**king Oscars, he's still a f**king douche bag. I can't believe it.”
But, it's now been rumoured that the whole thing was a publicity stunt for the mockumentary. Sounds like they kissed and made up a bit quick.
