Amal Alamuddin's law firm has congratulated her on her engagement to George Clooney.

The 36-year-old barrister was reported yesterday to have accepted the actor's proposal after a hush-hush relationship.

According to Fox News, the Doughty Street Chambers where Amal works "offer their best wishes and congratulations to Ms. Amal Alamuddin ... and Mr. George Clooney on their engagement to be married."

The company's chief executive Robin Jackson said she is an "utterly wonderful" asset to their team, adding: "She brings a bright light to everything she is involved in and I am so delighted at her happy news."

Clooney has previously been married to Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993, and has since dated Lisa Snowden and Stacey Keibler, the latter of whom also recently married.

Alamuddin's high-profile client list boasts former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and former Ukranian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko.
