Beyonce's New Album Outsells Predecessor '4'... Ironically In Just Four Weeks

Just when you thought Beyonce couldn't get any bigger, the global superstar and musical Goddess just goes and tops even her best efforts as her new album simply titled 'Beyonce' stomps all over her previous effort '4', outselling the chart topping LP over in the States ironically in just four weeks.

The self-titled LP, which dropped without any prior announcement accompanied with a staggering 17 music videos, has topped charts all over the world - becoming the fastest selling album ever on iTunes after it was exclusively released via the store last December.

And despite remaining at the top of the Billboard Top 200 for a fourth consecutive week, her sales just keep on soaring, overtaking her previous album's sales despite the former collection being released almost three years ago!

Last week 'Beyonce' shifted a further 130,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan bringing its total to a whopping 1.43 million in the US alone, while '4' has sold 1.39 million since its release on June 28, 2011.

Selling 310,000 in it's debut week, '4' became Beyonce's fourth consecutive number one album over in America and as impressive as that sounds, that's nothing compared to the 617,000 downloads her latest offering sold in it's first three days, despite being only made available exclusively on iTunes and with absolutely no promotion whatsoever.

'Beyonce' has become the singer's most career defining album to date being met with enormous praise from both fans and critics alike. Explaining her decision to avoid releasing her album via the usual promotional format she recently revealed: "I didn't want to release my music the way I've done it (before). I'm bored with that.

"I feel like I'm able to speak directly to my fans. There's so much that gets between the music, the artist and the fans.

"I felt like I didn't want anybody to give the message when my record is coming out. I just want this to come out when it's ready and (for it to be) from me to my fans."
