Beyonce's 'Mrs. Carter Show' World Tour Breaks Records In Australia And New Zealand

Beyonce has broken multiple records with her 'Mrs. Carter Show' world tour gigs, including attendance records at arenas in New Zealand and Australia as well as becoming one of the highest grossing tours to take place Down Under.

The 'Countdown' singer grossed over $37 million for the Australia and New Zealand tour which included 14 dates in five Australian cities and four nights in Auckland on NZ's North Island.

In total, 220,000 tickets were sold for the 18 shows and Bey broke attendance records at Perth Arena and Vector Arena in Auckland. The star has toured the countries a number of times since her first professional trip there in 2000, as part of Destiny's Child.

The mammoth 107-date tour began in the USA at the start of 2013 and Bey is currently heading back to the States and Canada for the final leg, with a Vancouver gig booked in for November 30.

Michael Coppel, president of tour managament company Live Nation Australasia, has revealed he has loved working on the tour, commending Beyonce and her team. ''I've been fortunate enough to have worked with Beyonce since the first Destiny's Child tour in 2000," he stated.

"But this tour has been an absolute standout in terms of the showcasing her unparalleled talent, energy and joy for performing in one of the most spectacular productions ever to visit this country.''

The mother-of-one isn't the only star to succeed Down Under, Pink's 2013 tour also grossed $37 million while Bruce Springsteen's 'Wrecking Ball' concerts netted $23 million. Bey set a number of other records while in Auckland, setting the new highest number of ticket-buyers with a total of 44,596 fans purchasing tickets and breaking Pink's paid attendance record on her final night there.

Beyonce's tour has run smoothly and earlier this week the star teamed up with the Hope for Children charity to arrange for one teenage girl to have a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a Perth gig.

As the opening bars of 'Irreplaceable' were played by her band, Bey singled out thirteen-year-old Sophie Kotkis, who suffers from hearing and muscle difficulties as well as blindness, to say hello to the crowd and sing the first lines of the track. At an Adelaide gig the week before, the 'Love On Top' megastar surprised another fan when she took his phone as he FaceTimed a pal and said hello to the caller.

The former Destiny's Child singer has been worknig on her highly-anticipated fifth album while travelling across the globe however her spokesperson has denied reports that a release date has been penciled in.
