“A Baying crowd waiting for blood” is a quote that seems more akin to a medieval execution than a Big Brother eviction, but they were the words used by Shievonne to describe last night’s eviction of house drama queen Lydia.
Although her eviction happened last night, the events that followed were seen to provide the majority of the drama in tonight’s episode. She was last seen to describe her time in the house as “laugh trials and tribulations” and as the housemates enjoyed a party in return for tidying the house, the voice of Big Brother was quick to inform them that Scott and Deana had been caught discussing nominations earlier in the evening. This was a breach of the strict policy set out by Big Brother that prohibited doing so.
It was a moment of light-hearted embarrassment that transformed into a full blown argument as Big Brother revealed that the table football previously purchased by Arron would be confiscated as a result of this. Scott’s response seemed somewhat selfish, repeatedly claiming “it’s just a table” whilst a visibly livid Arron was seen to remonstrate with Scott, claiming that the table football was his key source of enjoyment in an otherwise mundane house.
American Adam was also seen to comically protest against the confiscation of the table in the diary room, adopting the guise of an authoritative drill sergeant. It was a guise that he had previously taken up for the cleaning of the house earlier in the day, effortlessly calling other housemates “maggots” whilst frequently dishing out the punishment of press-ups.
Adam was also seen to speak out in support of Lydia when she evicted, claiming that they had a “connection”. That may be the case, but throughout her time in the house it became clear that the only connection she was ever interested in, was that which she scared with Andy Scott Lee.
