Brad Pitt Admits He's Only Willing To Do Films That 'Make His Kids Proud'

Brad Pitt has filmed a wide variety of films in the past, seemingly without any consistent reasoning as to why he selects such films. However, now that he is a father of six, the actor has admitted that his children influence his movie choices.

In a new interview with Britain’s OK! Magazine, the actor revealed that from this point on, he only wants to take on roles in which he feels his kids will be proud of.

''The key for me [when choosing a film] is to leave something behind that will make my kids proud,” he revealed. ''I want to be able to show my films to my children and say, 'Your daddy made this.'''

The actor also admitted that early on in his career, he felt somewhat lost. The reason is because he was being advised based on what would help him to make a lot of money.

''When I was starting out, I didn't really follow my instincts,” he explains. “I felt kind of lost. You get a lot of advice from people who are trying to advance your career and make money off you - and that isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it isn't always going to lead you to make good films.”

So has he figured out exactly what type of films will make his kids proud? Well, it turns out that he believes telling personal stories are the right thing to do.

''But eventually, I figured out I was in the game to tell personal stories. I wanted to be able to add something to a film that was different to what anyone else could bring,'' he said.

One of Brad Pitt’s last movies definitely fit that description, as he played the role of Bass in Academy Award winning film 12 Years A Slave and was also a producer of the film.
