Brad Pitt Gave Angelina Jolie Gold Band Which 'Belonged To His Grandmother As Sign Of Impending Wedding'

Angelina Jolie sparked speculation she'd tied the knot with fiance Brad Pitt, after she was photographed wearing a plain gold band during a trip to Africa where she was visiting as part of her work as a UN special envoy, but though it was denied they have already wed, the band reportedly is a sign they will become man and wife very soon.

The mother of six swapped her $250,000 16-carat diamond rock, which the Moneyball star gave her last year, for the plain gold band as she visited the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda.

"Angelina said that she didn't want to wear her engagement ring because she thought it was important not to be ostentatious with clothes and jewellery when in a poor region," a source told Grazia magazine.

"Brad said he completely understood why she couldn't wear her engagement ring, but he really wanted to give Angelina something special and more understated to wear instead."

And it wasn't any old replacement, Brad reportedly gave Ang the wedding band that belonged to his great grandmother, which the star found "touching".

The close friend went on: "Angelina seemed truly touched by the special gift of his great-grandmother's wedding ring, and it meant a lot to be able to take it on the trip with her."

Giving Ang such a precious family heirloom has been seen as a "symbol of their impending marriage," they added.

The couple have been coy about when exactly they'll be tying the knot, but with reports they picked up a marriage licence recently, it means the wedding will be within the next 90 days.
