The interview with Esquire is painfully honest, showcasing Brad's insecurities and past hangups but, more importantly, it helps to show just how far he's come since his "drifter" days - and highlights how grateful he is to have Angelina Jolie and their children in his life:

"For a long time I thought I did too much damage—drug damage. I was a bit of a drifter. A guy who felt he grew up in something of a vacuum and wanted to see things, wanted to be inspired. I followed that other thing. I spent years f**king off. But then I got burnt out and felt that I was wasting my opportunity.

"[A]bout a decade ago [I made a] a conscious change... It was an epiphany—a decision not to squander my opportunities. It was a feeling of, 'Get up.' Because otherwise, what's the point?"

Nowadays, Brad is a humanitarian and dedicated father - as well as an actor with a steady career and a beautiful partner in Angelina Jolie. it's no wonder he's so happy with the way things have turned out:

"I just haven't known life to be any happier."
