BRIT Awards: Niall Horan Laughs Over Justin Bieber's Arrest Amid Selena Gomez Romance Claims

Niall Horan had a bit of an awkward moment last night at the BRIT Awards when he was asked by host James Corden whether or not he'd been in contact with Justin Bieber since he was recently arrested. The One Direction boys attempted to laugh off the question, but it was doubly awkward for Niall as he's recently been linked to Justin's ex girlfriend Selena Gomez.

The 1D babe and Selena were pictured together hanging out in London this weekend, which inevitably led to claims the Kiss You singer was now dating Bieber's ex. Reports even followed that Niall had been spotted kissing the Come And Get It star during a nightout.

Surely then the Irish singer would want to avoid the topic of the Boyfriend star on national TV? Unfortunately for Horan, Corden was right in there with the Bieber banter as he joked with the boys that the star, who was arrested for three charges, including a DUI offence in Miami last month might need to "lay off the bong".

The conversation had Niall in fits of giggles as the Gavin and Stacey star, who is close to the boyband, continued to mock Bieber.

While Justin might have been the butt of jokes, 1D were riding high at the BRITs taking home two awards for Global Success and Best Video.

While a romance between Niall and Selena hasn't been confirmed, after all they just met up once, US outlet HollywoodLife has claimed the Beauty And The Beat star has been hurt by the claims his friend Niall is going behind his back.

The website claimed: “It’s all bravado with Justin, but anyone that knows him knows he’s still obsessed with Selena.

“There’s no way he’s not bothered by the thought of her with another guy. It hurts, and he’s not made of stone even if he tries to act like he is.”
