Cheryl Cole penned autobiography to clear up gossip

Singer Cheryl Cole decided to write an autobiography after growing tired of hearing untrue tales about herself.

The Girls Aloud star is preparing to lift the lid on her career and personal life, and she admits she felt compelled to pen the tome after former So Solid Crew rapper MC Harvey claimed earlier this year to have grown close to Cole in 2010 following her split from ex-husband Ashley Cole.

Cole confesses the story pushed her "over the edge" and made her determined to release her life details in her own words.

She tells London's Evening Standard magazine, "The amount of s**t I've had to read and endure and cry about and deal with has become very frustrating. And then there was a point earlier this year when a guy called MC Harvey claimed he'd had a relationship with me. It was completely false.

"I've had enough of other people's s**t and it's time to have my own say. I was always happy to keep my mouth shut, but it's, like, when a bully slaps someone and slaps someone and finally I've had enough. That story just tipped us (me) over the edge. I'm going to put it in my own words."

Cole's autobiography is expected to hit shelves this autumn.
