Cheryl Cole's new romance with dancer Tre Holloway is reportedly being jeopardised by the singer's decision to maintain a close relationship with ex-husband Ashley, who was said to be so concerned following her recent car accident that he wanted to fly to the US immedately on hearing of the news.
The 29-year-old went public with the romance only two weeks ago, but the relationship is said to be stalling because Tre can't understand why the Chelsea star is still in the picture. The couple split in 2010 after multiple women came forward to say that they had slept with him during his marriage to Cheryl, though the singer has admitted since she will always love him despite his behaviour.
A source told Now magazine: "Ash got a call telling him about the accident and the first thing he did was text Cheryl to check she was OK.
"He was really worried and he blames Will for putting her in danger. Cheryl replied, reassuring him she's 'fine, but all shook up'."

Earlier this week Tre and Cheryl opted to enjoy a romantic meal together in London, rather than heading to the GQ Men of The Year Awards where the singer had been invited. It is believed she decided against the event because ex Ashley was attending and wanted to avoid any awkward run-ins.
At the awards Ashley was asked by ITN what made a man great and perhaps referencing his 'love rat' label replied that he, “probably wasn't the best person to ask.”
Despite the accident, where The Voice coach and Cheryl's BFF Will.i.am crashed into a parked car at 3am, the Geordie beauty didn't seem to mind getting behind the wheel as she picked her boyf up from outside of Mayfair celeb haunt Mahiki on Wednesday night.
