Miami Heat basketball player Chris Bosh has registered for a change of address to curb paying more child support.
The NBA star, who recently had to drop out of consideration for the 2012 London Olympics due to an injury, has filed documents to claim Texas as his current state of residence.
It is believed that the 28-year-old is seemingly claiming residence in the southern state so that he doesn't have to pay babymama Allison Mathis more than he's currently giving her.
Although he earns about $18 million annually, Bosh is only paying Allison $2600. Since being laid off her secretarial job, Mathis claims that the amount given to her by her ex is barely enough to cover her mortgage, and recently had to file for food stamps.
Bosh has purchased a home in Dallas that is worth $73,000 a far lower value than the $12 million home in Florida that he shares with his new wife Adrienne and their son.
In Florida, Chris would be entitled to pay at least three per cent of his take home pay which is roughly around $30,000 a month. However, he recently filed for residency in Texas where Alison would receive one per cent less child support than she would if Bosh were a Florida resident.
A Florida judge will determine Chris Bosh's residency in late August.
