Damon Dash Sued For $1.5M In Music Ownership Drama
Fomer Roc-A-Fella mogul Damon Dash is being sued by New Orleans rapper Curren$y for a cool $1.5m over allegations Dash sold his music without permission.
Curren$y claimed Jay-Z's ex business partner tried to sign him to his DD172 record label in 2010. Following a disagreement the deal broke down and the rapper then went on to ink a deal Warner Brothers in January 2011, giving them exclusive rights to the tracks.
However, according to Curren$y's lawsuit, Dash continued to sell the mixtapes - and now the Pilot Talk star is demanding $1.5 million (£937,500) in damages, say TMZ.
Dash has vowed to fight the allegations, claiming Curren$y gave him permission to sell the mixtapes.
The former Roc-A-Fella CEO recently hit financial trouble in 2009 and had two of his New York penthouses repossessed, owing more than $2 million (£1.25 million) in taxes.
