Skating after Torvill and Dean’s mesmerising performance to Rebecca Ferguson singing ‘In My Life’ was always going to be a tough act to follow. Luckily, Dancing on Ice 2014’s Sam Attwater was more than up to the challenge.
Trying his hand at Banghra with partner and fiancée Vicky Ogden, Sam was suited, booted and ready to dance his socks off. And he did just that, dancing his “best performance so far” according to Karen, who scored him 8.5, along with Robin and Jason.

Ashley was even more impressed, scoring Sam a near-perfect nine and commenting that “this style translated so nice on the ice, you guys WERE dancing on ice. I had so much fun.”
Jason was also singing his praises, describing the dance as “terrific. Banghra is a very fast, high energy routine, and that’s what you put into this number.”
Partner Vicky seems to have the secrets to why the performance was so great, revealing that Sam is “a perfectionist. Everyday we practiced the moves in the mirror.”
Practice makes perfect, and it seems Sam’s practicing really paid off! As Christopher Dean said, “the mirror’s working!”
What did you think of their performance? Will Sam be safe from the skate-off tonight?
