One Direction's Louis Tomlinson: 'A Fan Gave Me Crabs!'

Those One Direction boys are used to being given a fan gift or two from some of their many, many admirers but it seems like there are some gifts that are a bit stranger than others, with Louis admitting that he'd been given crabs... of the 'live hermit' variety, that is!

And the strange fan gifts don't end there, with band member Harry Styles saying that the guys had also received a box of mushrooms. Standard.

During a chat with Viva, Harry said: "A box of mushrooms dressed like us."

To which Louis added, “[The weirdest gift I've been given] was a live hermit crab"

A hermit crab? You have to hand it to Directioners for originality, that's for sure...

Among all the weird gifts, Liam Payne managed to bag himself the most dad-like one of them all.

“I got given a Swiss army knife", the star said.

Meanwhile, despite the lovely gifts (ahem), Louis has said that fans aren't always the nicest, especially when it comes to family and friends.

The 1D singer, who is loved up with his student girlfriend Eleanor Calder, revealed to Now magazine that while most of his fans are great - even bringing him gifts for Eleanor - he also has to deal with others who are incrediably spiteful.

"So many people come to signings and bring me presents for Eleanor," the 20-year-old gushed before adding: "But you also get this small number who want to say bad things."

"There was one young girl who called my mum a 'f*cking bitch'."

Clearly upset by the incident, Louis revealed his shock at the offensive outburts, before admitting he would never have had the gall to say such things.

"If I was 14, I wouldn't have had the guts to ever do that. I don't know how these people have been brought up."

Poor Louis!
