Despite Niall Horan being in one of the world's biggest boybands, the band member has opened up about his family traditions and has insisted that he wouldn't spend the holidays anywhere else other than Ireland.
And 1D have definitely had their work cut out this year, so an exhaused Niall has said that he can't wait for a bit of a break.
The blonde star told the Irish Sun: “I’ve never been away from home for Christmas and I don’t think I ever will be."
“I will be back in Ireland again this year — and I’ll be eating until I feel sick!"
“We have little traditions like going to the pub on Christmas Eve and watching telly all day. It will be the same as always and that’s what I love about it.”
But even though the band are now bona-fide pop superstars, Niall’s dad Bobby told the newspaper that once his son walks through the door at home, he has no airs or graces whatsoever and he's no longer 'Niall the pop star.'
He revealed: “I might want to ask a lot of questions about what is going on in the band — but Niall just wants to be himself when he gets home."
The Horan fam flew out to New York for the landmark gig earlier this month and Bobby said the lads are all looking forward to some “normal” time.
He said: “We talk about soccer and everything else like we always have when he gets home.”
The proud dad added: “He has the same friends he will call down to. He is just our Niall once he gets back — that really shows the lovely fella that he is.”
And although Niall was accompanied by a burly security team on his last trip home, it is believed the cutie will be free to enjoy Christmas on his own.
An insider revealed: “The band’s management are sticklers for security and the boys have at least one minder with them wherever they go."
“It is hoped that when they go home for Christmas this can be relaxed but no one wants to take any chances."
Adding, “Their safety is paramount.”
