TV legend Eamonn Holmes has revealed his dream interview would be with Carole Middleton.

Speaking to Kate Thornton on the latest episode of White Wine Question Time, he said he would love to have free reign to ask the mother of Pippa and Kate anything, but that his questions would revolve mostly around the relationship between Kate and William.

“I’d say ‘C’mon did you plan it? Was it all set up? How important was it for you that the kid ended up with William?’” he said.

Eamonn has been working as a journalist and broadcaster since he was 19, and is best known for presenting Sky News Sunrise and This Morning. He was awarded an OBE for services to broadcasting last year.

When asked if that was really his opinion on the royal relationship, Eamonn replied: “I'm the interviewer. I'm only asking. It’s not about what I think.”

Kate Middleton met Prince William while at St Andrews University, where she reportedly caught William's eye at a charity fashion show. The pair went on to marry in 2011, watched by an estimated 300 billion people around the world.

Eamonn said he’d love to know whether Carole had given the pair any advice once they got together, and what it was like to finally meet the Royal Family. “I’d ask, ‘What was it like meeting Queenie and Prince Phillip? Has it changed your life? Have you cashed in on being connected to the royals?” he said.

Kate, a long-time friend of Eamonn’s, was shocked at his choice, saying she thought he would’ve chosen a footballer of politician, but Eamonn was dismissive of choosing to interview the latter.

“Politicians don't inspire me,” he explained to Kate.

He then went on to explain that he doesn’t vote because of the job he does, but it really annoys his audience, who love to be able to taunt him. “They love to be able to say Tory boy, Tory boy or you're just so red. It's unbelievable,” he said.
