A lot has happened in EastEnders' iconic Queen Victoria pub since it opened its doors all those years ago, but it looks as though the residents will have to find a new place to have a fight or celebrate a wedding following the reports that the public house will close it's doors this summer.
However, it won't be because current landlord and landlady Alfie and Kat Moon have left, the doors of the Queen Vic will be close due to a flea infestation.
According to The Sun, the storyline will see Alfie, who is played by Shane Richie being forced to close the pub in order for the place to be fumigated, which will cause a further strain on the couple who have been seen drifting apart in recent scenes.
Speaking of the storyline, an insider said: "This is a huge blow for Kat and Alfie. They’ve been struggling to make ends meet and lose thousands while the pub is shut.
“They have no idea who brought the fleas in and are determined to get to the bottom of it. Kat and Alfie’s relationship has been strained for months and this only adds to their problems.”
Oh dear! The scenes will reportedly be broadcast next month.
