Five reasons Kate Middleton will make a great mother
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge leave the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in London, with their newborn son, Prince George of Cambridge.

When Kate Middleton gave birth to Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge, she further cemented her position as my favourite celebrity. The new mum, the Royal Baby and Prince William look like a blissfully happy family already, and it's no wonder. K-Middy has all the attributes to make a marvellous mama.

One of the most important qualities any mum needs is patience, and Kate has it in spades. Just look at the nickname that dogged her for years; Waity Katie. She proved her staying power by sticking with Wills for ages before he put a ring on it, and this bodes well for baby George. When Kate's been covered in pee, poo and sick for the umpteenth time, she'll certainly need to have a little patience, as Take That crooned.

Kate's spirit of endurance came in handy when Wills dumped her way back when, and by taking him back, she showed her capacity for forgiveness. Anyone who's been ditched and then got back together with the offending article will know it's no easy move. Being able to forgive and forget will stand K-Middy in good stead when Prince Georgie starts accidentally head-butting her, biting her and generally misbehaving.

Putting others first

It can't be easy loving a Prince who's destined to be King. After all, Wills must have to put his royal duties before his wife on countless occasions. K-Midds now has another man in her life who will need to do that too when he's an adult, so it's just as well she's used to putting her loved one's needs ahead of her own. Just make sure you reward your selflessness with plenty of cake, Kate.

Family focus

Before hanging up her dancing shoes and settling down with her Prince, Kate liked to pardy with a d (as every posho does). Remember that roller disco outfit? Totes amaze. Even then, the Duchess exhibited her focus on family by hanging out with her siblings, Pippa Middleton and James Middleton. That sisterly and brotherly love will come in handy when K-Middy needs a babysitter for those nights she hits the rink again.

Unconditional love

Last but not least, love. Kate clearly loves Wills unconditionally, not batting an eyelid at his receding hairline. What little George needs most of all right now is a big slice of that, with a side order of milk and maybe a crown or two in his wardrobe for special occasions. On that subject, I'm pretty sure he'll be one stylish dude too given his mama's exemplary fashion taste. I'm hoping to see hand-me-downs from his Uncle Harry.
