Aussie charmer Hugh Jackman is probably the most popular man on the set of his new movie ‘Les Miserables’ after splashing out on lottery tickets for the entire crew.
The ‘X Men’ star is currently filming the big screen version of the successful musical in Berkshire and slipped out in between filming to the local newsagents and spent £250 on scratch cards.
An insider told The Sun: “Hugh said he needed to go to the shops then came back with a wad of scratchcards and handed them out to everyone.
“It’s a nice gesture. No one won, however – or if they did they’re not saying.”
It isn’t the first time the 43 year-old has splashed out on gifts for the crew. The actor treated 500 of his co-workers on ‘Reel Steel’ to lottery tickets last year. When asked what made him pull the generous stunt the star admitted: “It’s my way of paying taxes.
“The very first film I did in America, I was embarrassed to say two months in that I didn’t know half of the crew’s names.”
“So I thought that on a Friday afternoon I’ll whip by and buy Lottery tickets for everyone and hand them out. I say it’s an Australian tradition, but it’s not," he joked.
Just a thoroughly nice chap eh? You are welcome in our office any time Mr Jackman!
