Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge might be a mum now but it seems the royal is still determined to do things herself as she was spotted out shopping last week at high street chain Zara just hours before an official engagement.
The 31 year-old, who had a busy week with son Prince George's christening on Wednesday and an appearance at the 100 Women In Hedge Funds annual gala dinner in aid of Action on Addiction a day later, was seen at a branch of the store, known to be a favourite of the Middleton sisters, in Chelsea ahead of the event.
According to MarieClaire.co.uk the future queen was escorted by one protection officer as she browsed homeware, perhaps picking something out for her new home at Kensington Palace.
The report claims a dressed down Kate was wearing skinny jeans and a Jack Willis top for the shopping trip, accessorising with a Mulberry handbag.

Known to be a fan of the high street it's not a surprise the Duchess has turned to her favourite store for a bargain. She's currently re-decorating two properties, the royal couple's London residence at Kensington Palace and their country retreat on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, Amner Hall.
It's one of the first time Kate's been spotted out running errands since the birth of her son George, who was born in July. The three month old was no doubt back at Kensington Palace with his nanny Jessie Webb, who looked after Princes William and Harry when they were young.

After intially forgoing the need for a nanny, the couple hired the 71 year-old in September. According to the MailOnline a source said at the time: "Jessie Webb is helping the couple out. It was a very recent decision."
Insiders claim the 71-year-old, who is now retired, was "delighted and flattered" to be asked to be the royal nanny and joined the couple at their home in Wales in August to get to know little George.
"The truth is she loves William very much and was happy to do anything she could to help out," the insider went on.
The 71-year-old, who also lives at Kensington Palace after retiring to an apartment there several years ago, was reportedly seen when they arrived at the royal residence with the insider claiming she was the only one William would trust with his first born. Jessie is known to be incredibly close to both princes Harry and William and cared for the boys throughout their childhoods.

Since finishing in her role as royal nanny she has stayed close to the boys and was present at William's 21st birthday as well as the royal wedding in 2011. The royal nanny might be in her seventies but she's a seasoned pro when it comes to looking after royal babies, and was recently looking after the children of Viscount Linley, Patrick and Margarita.
Last Wednesday marked only the second time since his birth that the public got a look at Prince George.
Speaking at a Kensington Palace State Apartments reception and dinner on Friday night, she told a guest, according to the Mail Online: "He’s not always like that but I think he enjoys all the different people and I think there was lots of action going on. He gets slightly distracted.
"He was such a good boy – actually we’re very lucky."

When Prince William carried the tot into the chapel, the royal quipped: "Perfect timing. He's just gone quiet," with the little one staying calm throughout the ceremony from then on.
Kate wasn't the only one gushing over baby George, with insiders also commenting on hoe well behaved he was.
"Prince George has been good as gold today," a source told Us Weekly, claiming during the service he "blew bubbles while William bounced him."
