Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William are the most famous couple on the planet, but don't expect the royal pair to be attention-seeking as their former classmates from University have claimed they were “nice, down to earth people.”
The couple got together 12 years ago while they were both studying at St Andrews university. After being friends in the first year they lived together in the town happily for the next two where their love flourished.
Speaking of how normal the pair were, Jules Knight who was also at the University claimed William was “just one of the lads,” and didn't seem like a royal prince.
“We were on the same course and I lived next door to William,” he told Now magazine.
“They’re both very nice, down-to-earth people. We had a big group of friends and a great time. Despite the need for privacy, the couple were incredibly sociable, even throwing parties at their student digs."

Jules went on: “We used to go to house parties. It might sound weird but they were just part of our circle of friends, Kate especially.”
Adding: “And you’d be amazed at how quickly we forgot that William was royalty. He was just one of the lads to us.”
Kate and Wills often talk with fond memories of their time in University. In November Prince William talked of his love for St Andrews during a black tie dinner to mark it's 600th anniversary.
“Tonight is very special for Catherine and me,” the Prince said as he addressed the dinner. “We have been privileged to receive the best of university educations. Secondly, we all love St Andrews. We love it for the academic start in life it gives us.
“We love it for its traditions - traditions that lie at the very heart of Scotland’s history. We love it because it made us look beyond St Andrews, beyond the borders of Scotland, to the wide world."
He added: “But perhaps most important of all, we love it for the friendships it has given us.”
