Keira Knightley has accused the English people of being a kinky lot as she says that they “love a good spanking”.

The 26 year-old actress told Interview Magazine that everyone in the UK was obsessed with the spanking scene in her latest movie a 'Dangerous Method' with Michael Fassbender although she isn’t quite so convinced that she enjoys it.

“The English love a good spanking!” she said. “People liked the spanking an awful lot. But I’m not quite sure. It’s weird.”

Clearly us Brits love a bit of smut as the actress went onto explain that it was only in the UK that people asked about the sexually charged moments of the film.

"When we were in Venice, I didn’t get asked about it once... But in England, it was pretty much the only thing I got asked about.

"I’m not quite sure what that says about the English."

While the ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’ star may not be sure about spanking she did want to make sure she looked the part in the movie also co-starring Viggo Mortensen.

The stunning star revealed that she so wanted to impress director David Cronenberg that she let him pick her sex face for the movie over Skype.

“I worked with that and sat in my bathroom and pulled faces at myself for two days," she explained.

"Then I got on Skype with David and went 'Ive come up with this' or 'I've come up with that' and he went, 'that one!'”
