Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson have allegedly dodged a possible reunion at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, despite attempts to get them to appear on the show.
HollywoodLife.com reports that MTV were hoping that they could bring the pair back together in a surprise for 'Twilight' fans. However, as it became clear that the situation surrounding Stewart's affair and their break-up was taking its toll, bosses shelved the plans.
A source told the website that Rob, 26, and Kristen, 22, “were not [100 percent] confirmed for the show, so it isn’t being considered a cancellation [by MTV].”
The source said that they wanted to do a surprise moment with both of them coming out on stage, like “when Pee Wee Herman came out after his scandal.”
However the seriousness of the situation put breaks on the plans, as “those ideas were shattered fast due to the extreme nature of the situation they both have been going through with the break-up and affair”.
The awards are on September 6, but sadly it looks like Robert and Kristen will be elsewhere that night, and the way things are looking, it's unlikely they'll be together.
