Kelly Rowland's father Christopher Lovett is desperate to reunite with the singer before he dies as he has not seen her since she was seven years old.

Her parent claims Kelly's mother Doris left him and took their daughter and now his getting older, he feels he is running out of time to make peace with her.

Kelly has achieved success in Destiny’s Child as well as in a solo career and The X Factor shows in bother the UK and US.

The 67-year-old told America’s Star magazine: “So many previous years have passed and I’m getting old. I just pray she comes back into my life before it’s too late.”

Christopher admits to hurling verbal abuse at Kelly’s mother and blames alcoholism for it. “I couldn’t control it,” he said. “I hoped I could make it up to her. But I’m still waiting for that day.”

He told the publication to pass on the message "I love you with all my heart" to his relative and claims he has been trying to get in touch with her for a long time now.

“Whenever [Destiny's Child] was on the cover of a magazine, I would call and beg them to tell her I was looking for her,” he shared.

He tried to get her to reach out to him in 2011 however in the past Kelly has showed no signs of being able to reach him.

“I don’t know where he is but I hope he’s not dead. That would break my heart," she said.

“I remember my dad being drunk and aggressive towards my mom but not me. I don’t know if he knows who I am or what I’ve done. He must be hiding under a rock if he doesn’t.”
