Nicole Scherzinger may be in line to fill the empty seat on the X factor judging panel permanently, to join Gary Barlow, Tulisa Contostavlos, and Louis Walsh, after the singer was reportedly offered £500,000.
The former Pussycat Doll has already been on the panel once this month, when she stepped in for the London auditions, but will also guest judge at the upcoming Newcastle auditions.
However, it has also been hinted that fellow American singer Anastacia, who impressed on her time at the Glasgow auditions, is also in the frame for the job.
"Everything is in place for Nicole but Anastacia was incredible," a source told the The Sun newspaper.
"She had such great chemistry with the others. Nicole has been good in the past but she hasn't worked with anyone on this panel before except Louis, so who knows how she will do?''
"Nothing is certain on The X Factor - things change down to the wire," added the source.
The 33-year-old 'Buttons' singer was axed from the US version of the show after failing to impress audiences.
If Nicole accepts the offer, she would be expected to be in the UK for about four months, as well as being located in a London base and closer to F1 boyfriend Lewis Hamilton.
