Mila Jovovich was one of the first stars to show up on the red carpet for the Oscars 2011.

Wearing Ellie Saab, 'The Three Musketeers' actress looked stunning in a white sequin one shoulder gown.

The star told ABC News that it was the first time she had attended the Academy Awards as merely a spectator.

Although she found the experience liberating she wanted the Academy to know she was available if they ended her to help with anything.

'The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo' star Rooney Mara also dazzled in ivory.

The actress - who stars in the American version of the originally Swedish movie - donned a back-baring Givenchy number as she hit the Hollywood and Highland Center on Sunday.

However Gwyneth Paltrow was show stopping in white. She managed to avoid looking like an ice queen despite the long cape attached to her maxi gown.

The Glee guest star must have been the warmest star in Hollywood, barely showing any skin on the biggest night of the year for film.

Meanwhile Jennifer Lopez looked sexy as ever but went the opposite way as far as flashing the flesh goes.

The 42-year-old mother of twins Max and Emme, 3, looked a little more Grammy Awards than styled for this formal night in the showbiz calendar.

While not quite white, Cameron Diaz was a vision in a nude Gucci gown.

The figure-hugging design formed perfectly around her athletic figure. The star even managed to go braless in the bandeau gown which featured ruffled edges around the bottom.
