Pharrell Williams has admitted that he regrets covering his body with tattoos and is currently in the process of having them removed.

The 'Beautiful' hitmaker told Complex magazine that he is still in the process of removing all his inkings accumulated from a "crazy period" in his youth.

"No, I was just young and dumb," Pharrell told the publication when asked if getting tattoos was like collecting art.

"I ended up getting them as fast as I could, just going through a really crazy rebellious period."

"I got a lot of them but yes, [Anil Gupta] had given me one of my best tattoos. I'm going to go back to him. I still have tattoo removal being done now."

The music producer spoke on the painful skin grafting procedure to get his body art removed in 2008, saying: "First you have to give them a sample of your skin, which they then replicate. Once that's been done, they sew it on - and it's seamless."
