Man of the moment Bradley Wiggins continued his award winning form last night as he added the GQ Lifetime Achievement award to his long list of accolades at a star studded ceremony in London.

The Olympic and Tour De France champ was handed his award by former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher at the GQ Men of the Year Awards which, after a blistering summer of sporting achievement was dominated by the cream of Team GB who picked up the gong for best Team.

Speaking of what made a great man to ITN, Liam admitted it was probably someone like Bradley, claiming they need to, “wins gold medals at riding a bike really fast.”

The Team Sky member knows something about that after becoming the first Brit ever to win the Tour de France picking up at gold medal at the London games only a few weeks later.

Taking to Twitter after the party, Bradley had clearly struck up a new friendship with the singer, writing: “What a night at GQ awards and Liam What a gent, cheers.”

Clearly feeling patriotic, Bradley's wife Catherine wore a Vivienne Westwood Union Jack dress for the evening and looked on proudly as her husband stole the show.

On hand to cheer on his fellow cyclist was Sir Chris Hoy, who picked up his sixth gold medal at the London Olympic Games this summer as well as gold and silver medallist Victoria Pendleton who looked stunning in a Stella McCartney optical illusion dress.

Other Olympians enjoying their golden moment, was double Olympic distance runner champion Mo Farah who presented Robbie Williams with the Icon award and long jump champ Greg Rutherford.

Joining the Olympic champs were a host of celebs including Katherine Jenkins, James Corden, David Gandy and Kylie Minogue, who admitted that a sense of humour was her biggest turn on when it came to the lads.
