PHOTOS: Matt Smith Gets To Work With David Tennant In New Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Special Images

With the Doctor Who 50th special anniversary episode drawing closer, fans will be delighted to see that stills from the highly awaited and anticipated episode have been released by the BBC.

In the images, Matt can be seen reprising his role as the Doctor with his classic bow tie back in place, appearing to work with former Time Lord David Tennant and iconic actor John Hurt whose role on the hit BBC sci-fi drama sees him playing a reincarnation of Doctor Who - but one that has never been seen before.

Other images also show Matt high up in the air, holding onto the bottom of the iconic blue Tardis over London - scenes of which were filmed in London earlier this year to the joy of fans who stopped to watch it.

Having made her official debut on Doctor Who last series, Jenna Louise Coleman and her character Clara will also be back on the show and just as David has made a comeback, Billie Piper will also be seen returning to the show as Rose - companion to Christopher Eccleston's Doctor.

The exact details of the special episode have been kept under wraps but all will be unveiled on November 23.

With the 50th special episode being Matt's penultimate episode that he will feature in as the Doctor after announcing his exit from the show earlier this year,  the show's executive producer Steven Moffat has revealed that Matt's successor Peter Capaldi's transformation as the new Time Lord has already begun.

Revealing that Capaldi, who was announced as the next Time Lord earlier this year, had already been out shopping to get ideas of how he wants his Doctor to look, the Radio Times quoted Moffat saying:

"[Peter] was texting me 'I'm out with [the wardrobe stylist] at the moment, it's going quite well' and some descriptions of clothes I did not understand. If it's not a suit.

"I'll just let them get on with it and it'll be 'yes' or 'no' at the end."

Moffat also went on to admit that he wasn't a fan of Matt's idea to wear a bow tie when they were discussing how his Doctor was going to look.

He recalled: "Matt said 'I should be a boffin, I think I need to go with the bow tie' and I said 'No, absolutely not, you're not wearing a bow tie - that's a cartoon idea of what Doctor Who is… Oh, you are going to wear a bow tie - you look incredible in it.."

Luckily Moffat soon came round to the idea, adding: "And from that moment on he suddenly came to life, and he put the tweed jacket on and suddenly he's leaping round the room with a biro pen and that was it - he was The Doctor."
