Rihanna 'Fuming After BFF Katy Perry Hints She Needs Saving'

Rihanna and Katy Perry might have been friends for years but it seems the Diamonds singer was left unimpressed by recent comments made by the Firework star in a recent interview where she implied the singer needed "saving".

In a new interview with Elle magazine, the singer appeared to imply that RiRi's entourage was a bad influence on the singer and stated that she wouldn't be stepping into to save anyone. Perry was rumoured to have fallen out with the 25 year-old when she reunited with Chris Brown last year, something she was said to be dead against.

Talking about her friend, Katy told the magazine: “I love her [Rihanna] and every time I see her, I’m reminded of the light that she has,”

Going on and while not directly talking about Rihanna she appears to be referring to her hard partying ways, which has hit the headlines continuously over the last year.

“There’s a lot of dark in this business,” Perry said.

“I know a lot of people out there with the most detrimental entourages — they are the root of their demise."

She added: "It’s really unfortunate but you can’t save these people. My days of celebrity saving are over.”

According to insiders Rihanna has been left "unimpressed" by the comments, claiming she didn't need anyone to save her.

“Rihanna doesn’t need to be saved by anyone,” a source close to the singer claimed. “The man upstairs is to whom she owes everything. That’s who brought her here and that’s who she’s leaving with!”

While she's not happy with the comments, the insider claimed theres no way the 25 year-old will be holding a grudge.

“Everybody has an opinion about something,” the source went on, “Ri’s grown and will walk through fire by herself if it means it will make her stronger. Rihanna knows how to cut ties and cut them so sharp that your teeth bleed!"

They added: "She knows how to get rid of toxic people in her life. She’s not a baby and has everything she could ever want or need in life. She’s happy and thankful.”

Last year Perry made it clear she wasn't exactly approving of Rihanna's decision to rekindle her romance with toxic ex Chris Brown.

When asked how the Bajan beauty was in November 2012, when rumours of Chris and Rihanna were rife, Perry told Radio 1 she hadn't spoken to her since the MTV VMAs in September where she'd kissed Brown following his award win.

"We've had dinner, and that's about it. I didn't reach out to her after the incident," Perry stated. 

"I think she is doing fine. I don't know," she went on, "Her personal life has probably already been blown out of proportion. I don't really have to go into that. I'm sure she probably wants a break."
