David O. Russell's new movie Silver Linings Playbook is an early Oscars contender after picking up the top prize at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The movie, starring Bradley Cooper as a man recovering from a breakdown, picked up the Blackberry People's Choice Award, following in the footsteps of Slumdog Millionaire and The King's Speech, which both went on to win a slew of Academy Awards, including Best Film.
The movie co-stars Jennifer Lawrence, Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver.
Ben Affleck's latest directorial outing, Argo, was named runner-up.
Other winners at the festival included Seven Psychopaths, starring Christopher Walken and Woody Harrelson, which picked up the Midnight Madness Award, and rock film Artifact, which was named best documentary.
