Simon Cowell On Mariah Carey's American Idol Role: 'She'll Find It Difficult'

X Factor supremo Simon Cowell has reacted to the news of Mariah Carey's appointment as an American Idol judge by saying that she will find it "difficult" to say no to the hopefuls who will audition in front of her.

Speaking to reporters at a critic's session, The Hollywood Reporter reports the media mogul, who reportedly tried to hire Mariah for the X Factor USA, saying that he was happy for the star, before adding:

"I like Mariah. I think she's going to find it difficult to say no. You've got to say no to people and she's sweet. No, I think she'll be great."

However, Simon may have to watch out because according to TMZ Mariah looks set to be the highest paid reality TV judge in history, following reports that the star will be paid approximately $18 million for her role. More than her American Idol predcessor Jennifer Lopez's wage and X Factor USA's Britney Spears' earnings.
