Berenice Marlohe may be bringing her sexy charms to the new James Bond movie 'Skyfall', but she's looking into Bond's past for her inspiration.
And the French beauty hasn't cited the likes of Ursula Andress, Britt Ekland, Diana Rigg or even Halle Berry as the Bond girl for her, but rather the songstress behind famous themes from the franchise such as 'Diamonds Are Forever' and 'Goldfinger'.
According to The Sun the star said: “Shirley is the incarnation of a Bond girl. "She gives me the sense of a sexy, powerful woman and so I took a lot of my inspiration from her. She is so great and her voice – my God."
The latest installment in the Bond franchise will see Marlohe as Severine, a character described to ITV as "glamourous and enigmatic" by the actress.
'Skyfall' is set for release on October 26, and also stars Daniel Craig as James Bond, Naomie Harris as Eve, Javier Bardem as Silva, Ralph Fiennes and Judi Dench.
As for Bassey, she's been one of Britain's most iconic performers for half a century, performing prominently and appropriately at the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
