In an unexpected turn, Stephen Mulhern host of Britain's Got Talent spin off show, Britain's Got More Talent has quit his role on the ITV2, claiming that the show is no longer "family friendly".

Talking about his departure from BGT, Mulhern suggested to The Sun that the show wasn't family friendly anymore. He said: “Britain’s Got Talent and More Talent are great to be part of but I’ve always wanted to do a show that is really family orientated”

We're not quite sure what he means by that, but if a show featuring dancing dogs, a man wearing a saucepan on his head and acrobats aren't family friendly then what is!

Mulhern continued by suggesting More Talent had been something of a learning curve for him, adding: “I don’t think it’s a bad thing it has taken me a long time to get here. I’ve learnt my trade and made all my mistakes on Britain’s Got Talent.”

However, fans of Stephens will now see him fronting a revamped version of hit game show Catchphrase, which was a hugely popular show for ITV in the 80's and 90's and was fronted by the iconic Roy Walker famous for his own catchphrase 'Say what you see!'

Mulhern isn't fazed at all by replacing Walker and taking on a show with such a cult following, in fact he's even been doing his homework and preparing his own catchphrases, saying:  “I’ll use, ‘Say what you see’ because it’s so synonymous with Catchphrase.

“But I’ll get it out of the way early and then move on to something different. ‘See it and say it’ perhaps, or ‘It’s on the screen, what does it mean?’

“I’ve been lying in bed thinking about my catchphrases ever since I signed up for it. It’s hard because you never want to be compared but it is always going to happen.”

Fans of Catchphrase may be slightly upset the show's returning without Walker, who recently blasted the decision to bring it back without him, but we're confident Mulhern will be perfect the job, utilising his cheeky boyish charms and naughty sense of humour that made More Talent almost more entertaining than the actual show!

Will you be sad to see Stephen leave BGMT?
