In a controversial move, BBC bosses have reportedly decided to change the venue for the upcoming series of Strictly Come Dancing which would see the iconic Tower Ballroom that has been used multiple times beforehand, being swapped in favour of a London venue instead.
It’s thought the move is a result of producers wanting to cut costs on the show, now the tenth series will be shot entirely on location in London which has caused upset amongst the local community in Blackpool.
Speaking to The Sun, a local engineer, John Kileen said: "I cannot believe Blackpool is being passed over when it has the best venue for Strictly.
"Everyone keeps going on about the BBC relocating to the North and being less London-centric but this move represents a betrayal of the North."
Although official confirmation has yet to be given, it seems likely the move will go ahead.
Hopefully the switch won't cause too much trouble as it is hoped this latest series will act as an extension of our Olympic glory this summer, as producers are in talks with Gold medal winning cyclist Victoria Pendleton as well as swimmer Rebecca Adlington who have both expressed an interested in taking part!
Amongst some of the celebrities rumoured to be taking part in the new series, includes radio 2 DJ, Chris Evans, Eastenders actress Charlie Brooks, Westlife singer Nick Byrne and cricketer Michael Vaughn.
