Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert & More Hit Country Music Awards Red Carpet (PHOTOS)

Country music's biggest stars attended the 47th Annual Country Music Awards in Nashville, Texas last night with lucky winners including Miranda Lambert and Tim McGraw but it looks as though everyone was a winner on the red carpet with their head turning outfits.

It was a huge night for Taylor Swift took home the prestigious Pinnacle Award and received an emotional tribute including clips from Justin Timberlake, Julia Roberts and Mick Jagger.

Billed as country music's biggest night of the year, the 2013 CMA Awards included performances from a whole host of nominees and guests, including a guest appearance from Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl, who drummed for Zac Brown's Band.

Guests on the night included Sheryl Crow who wowed on the red carpet and Nicole Kidman's husband Keith Urban. The CMAs celebrates the popular genre which has seen many of its exports sell millions of records worldwide. The Pinnacle Award received by 23-year-old Taylor isn't handed out every year, instead it's reserved for artists who have reached an ultimate highpoint in their career.

The 'Love Story' starlet gave an emotional speech and could be seen visibly holding back tears. After winning Taylor took to Twitter to share her joy, writing: "Tonight was my favorite CMAs ever, and I'm thinking about you all tonight. So many beautiful memories this year."

She also performed on the night, giving a special stripped-back rendition of 'Red' with the help of musicians Vince Gill and Alison Krauss, who Taylor introduced as "two of my biggest heroes."

Carrie Underwood performed a medley of tracks and other performances included Kacey Musgraves with 'Follow Your Arrow', while Maddie and Daphne Conrad chose to cover Swift's 'You Belong With Me' and will have been delighted when the chart-topping star danced along in the front row.

Blake Shelton gave a demonstration of why he deserved to win the Album of the Year Award for 'Based On A True Story' and Lady Antebellum gave a homecoming performance at their hometown venue.

Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton and duo Florida Georgia Line were the big winners, taking home two awards each and George Strait beat Taylor to Entertainer of the Year. Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley presented the event for the eighth year running, making light of celebrity feuds in thier opening skit and guiding the A-List award presenters and performers through a smooth-running evening. Country music megastars Sheryl Crow and Kelly Clarkson were also on hand to present awards.

The nominees and winners of the CMAs are all chosen by the association members, who vote through a ballot system in the months running up to the event. Other winners included Mac McAnally taking home the Musician Of The Year prize and Miranda Lambert scooping the Female Vocalist Of The Year Prize.
