Tom Cruise 'Chose Religion Over His Daughter Suri'

Tom Cruise 'Chose Religion Over His Daughter Suri'

After a VERY speedy divorce settlement, rumours are rife that Tom Cruise - when put to the test by Katie Holmes' lawyers - chose his religion over his daughter Suri.

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes' divorce, which was predicted to go straight to a very messy public court battle, has been settled privately within a matter of days. And, if reports are to be believed, Katie Holmes has been awarded full custody of their daughter Suri.

And, under terms of the settlement, it seems as if Suri will never be exposed to anything Scientology-related and we mean ANYTHING - no Scientology churches, no parties and definitely no Scientology schools.

A source informed Radar Online that Katie Holmes made sure that this was an "ironclad" clause in the divorce settlement:

"Katie made sure that this was ironclad in the agreement."

Everyone is wondering why Tom Cruise has given into so many of his soon-to-be ex wife's demands - including a rumoured $50 million goodwill gift - but Marty Rathburn, a former auditor within the Church of Scientology, believes that Tom was pushed by Scientologists to reach a quick agreement.

"I think that Tom Cruise chose his religion over his daughter Suri, and I also think that David Miscavige (Scientology leader) pressured Cruise to settle the divorce quickly."

Oh wow.

Of course Katie and Tom have made absolutely no comment on the terms of the settlement yesterday, but they HAVE released a joint statement reaffirming their commitment to the support of their daughter.

"We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests."

We wish them all the best.
