The Voice UK has pulled even further ahead from Britain’s Got Talent in the race for search ratings.
This week, the BBC vocal talent show received 70% more Yahoo! searches than their ITV rivals. The news comes just after ITV’s announcement that Britain’s Got Talent and The Voice would no longer clash as the former will be moved to a later time slot.
The Voice contestant Bo Bruce, who turned heads with her upmarket style, is now the most searched-for contestant this series, while ‘Price Tag’ singer Jessie J topped the search figures for the judges.
In the BGT camp, Irish singer Ryan O’Shaughnessy topped the list, while funnyman David Walliams returned to the top spot he held after the show’s first week.
Yahoo! omg! editor Julia White said “It’s clear that newcomer The Voice is gaining more and more ground on Britain’s Got Talent.
“Our stats show The Voice steaming ahead, with 70% more searches than its ITV rival.”
At the weekend, Simon Cowell openly praised his rivals on Twitter.
"A slightly irritated congrats to Danny and the BBC.
"But you didn't have a dancing dog!"
